Yellow concealer and I.

I have under eye dark circles, and i know I'm not the only one, and like many others i try as hard as i can to hide and conceal them. Benefit have a yellow concealer called Lemon Aid Colour Corrector and i have wanted it for ages, however, i have had to ban myself for spending on clothes and makeup as i am now in a supported shared house that requires rent and food! So i tried to find dupes and came up with none. A few weeks back, i decided to type in "yellow concealer" onto Ebay just to see if there was anything on offer. I ended up buying this!

Holy Grail: Tea tree oil

I've mentioned before how i have very sensitive skin, and i also have a massive problem area on my chin and have done since my early teens! Most strong spot creams or serums may get rid of the spots, but it aggravates my skin which looks worse in my opinion! The only thing my skin is fine with is Tea Tree oil, and i have used the Body Shop Tea Tree Cleansing Facial Wash for about 9 months and have used nothing else. I needed to re-purchase when it ran out, and whilst i was in the Body Shop my eyes fell on this little bottle of Tea Tree Oil! The woman went on to tell me how it was oil extracted from Tea Tree, completely natural and she said it was brilliant, so i bought it. I've been using it for about a month now and i cannot believe the difference it has made to my life (cheesy but true!)

Coastal Scents Haul!

Well i recently decided to purchase a few things from Coastal Scents after seeing it on youtube channels from people from the US, although i was quite sceptical of the cheap prices i have been blown away by the standard of the things i bought, so I'm going to share all of it with you!

Guest post: False Eyelashes!

I would like to welcome you all to my first ever guest post! This was done by my best friend Aimee from imNOTdisordered!

-

Hi! I’m Aimee, I run I’m NOT Disordered and Chelsea asked me to write a review on all of the new eyelashes I’ve recently purchased.
So, these are my eyelashes with my usual e.l.f. mineral infused mascara (a present from Chelsea), I don’t wear mascara day-to-day unless I’m popping out. The falsies usually come out for special occasions and nights out.
Image

I’ve always used Eylure no. 140 as I find them easy to cut to my length, easy to place and incredibly sturdy. They’re also good for numerous uses as the glue easily peels off so there’s no build-up. I like these as they’re quite dramatic and wearing them with something black on a night out, has a good effect. 4/5
ImageImageImage

Chelsea also bought me some E.l.f falsies. I found their glue more liquidised and very tacky but this made the lashes difficult to stick as they were constantly peeling away as I moved my fingers! Overall, I was very disappointed in these as I think I had high expectations because of my experience with their mascara. 2/5

I recently discovered Primark are now selling eyelashes and I am completely obsessed with their false nails (the designs and quality are impressive for £1) so I had high hopes. First, I tried the ‘sultry’ ones, I found these hard to remove from the packaging without crushing the lashes but the glue was very good and made them easy to place. I really liked these as I found the similar to the Eylure but a little bit more subtle. 3.5/5

Next, I tried the ‘natural’ lashes from Primark. I found that the transparent glue left my eyelid incredibly tacky. I can see why they are the ‘natural’ look but I actually thought my eyelashes looked better with only my mascara. 1/5

Finally, I tried out the ‘volume’ lashes. I found these easy to place and would probably wear them for a more low-key night out like quiet cocktails with my Mum. 3.5/5

Colourful Aztec

Wow, this has been one crazy week! If you follow me on twitter (here) then you'll know that i have been going to a series of interviews, and i found out yesterday that i got the job! I have joined a private nail and beauty college, and will be learning there and doing an apprenticeship at the same time, and the apprenticeship is going to be at the DoubleTree Hilton Beauty and Spa! I could not be happier, its my dream job! So with all this going on i have not found the time to blog, but I'm back with some nail art!

I realised the other day that i haven't done aztec nails in forever! I think its important to do more intricate designs every now and again to keep my painting skills up! So this is how it turned out!

Lipstick Haul!

Well, i have officially gone lipstick crazy. I just can't get enough and even though its burning a hole in my pocket i just can't get enough. And to think i used to not like wearing it! Makeup is just not complete without a lipstick and its fast becoming my favourite way to mix up my makeup looks. Coral lips, pink and nude. As i said, I've gone crazy. These are the lipsticks I've bought in the last week (oops)

Old bad makeup habits #cringe

So i started wearing makeup when i was about twelve years old and was at my first year in high school. However, its only been this past year where i have learnt and studied makeup, and like most people (i hope!) have realised that i used to do some real dodgy things with makeup, so i thought i would share them just for the giggles

Indecisive with Colour

So i had a nail art nightmare this week, i genuinely could not pick what colours to use, so instead i picked ten instead of two! Now, with the manicure done i kind of wished i had kept it to two colours, but that's the joy of nail art for me, I'm constantly learning. But this is the design i ended up with!

MAC's Luna review!

So basically i have been saving up for MAC's Soft and Gentle highlighter, it always looks so beautiful on people, so when i went to Liverpool last week i went into MAC and i walk inside all excitable, find the highlighter, swatched it and...well i was disappointed. I expected so much more, and i was being a bit over dramatic about it and one of the MAC girls came to me, so i told her all about it, and we decided that I'm a cream highlighter kind of girl. I like the sheen, that dewy look. So she sits me down in the chair and shows me all these products from the Cream Colour Base selection, and she shows me Luna and says she thinks this one will be perfect because of my pale complexion. It just looked like a white colour, i didn't see how it would work but she told me to trust her and she put it on me and oh my days i fell in love. It was perfect and everything that i think a highlighter should be.

Pale Nude Nails.

Wow its been ages since i did a nail art post, I've been feeling a little uninspired recently, so i did what i normally do when i have no inspiration and that's buy a new coloured nail polish, i spent all week looking for a creamish/pale-person-nude and i found it at last in the George (asda) range! And with that as my base this nail art kind of grew, and i thought I'd do this post a little differently and show you all each step individually.

So if you want to see how i achieved this, then keep on reading!

MOTD #1

This is the first MOTD that im putting onto the blog, and i am very nervous, so please don't hate my face too much.

I went out to Liverpool today shopping, i spent way too much money and laughed too many times, so all in all a good day. I didn't have much time to get ready this morning, so i kept the makeup pretty simple and this is how it turned out!

Foundation and Concealer Routine.

Like most people, my foundation and concealer routine is probably the most important part of any makeup look. Everyone, including myself, wants the perfect base and flawless skin. So my routine very rarely changes, but Ive recently added new steps in the last month or so, so this is currently how i do my foundation and concealer.

A Pedicure for the Beach

I often paint the staff's nails here, so when a nurse asked me to do a pedicure for her holiday i didn't think twice. This nurse is very girly, she is my fellow beauty lover and although we have different tastes we can talk about beauty and makeup all day long. She asked me for a pedicure that will look good with her tan on the beach, and she wanted me to use this new neon pink polish she had bought. This is what i came up with!

My Top Three Lip Products UPDATE #1

A few months back i did a post of my top three lip products that can be found here, but as you all know i have recently gotten over my phobia of lipstick and its quickly becoming my obsession, so since doing the post of 'getting braver with lipstick' i now that i have ALOT more lip products so i decided this post needed an update and fast!

Products that suck.

Before i start this post, i want to just reassure people that these are ALL of my own opinions, and not fact, so if you happen to love one of these products then good for you, i actually envy you as i hate wasting things. Something that really doesn't work for me might work for you and i guess that's what this billion dollar industry is all about, if we all liked and used the same products then there wouldn't be the massive variety in the first place! So now that's sorted, lets get on with the post!

'Beauty Do's and Dont's' #TOTW

This weeks #TOTW (topic of the week) is beauty do's and dont's! I think different people have different opinions, so i got a few friends to help out with this blog post.

Beauty do's:

Clean your skin! I cleanse your face every morning, so you have lovely clean skin as a base for your makeup. - Me

Don't use heat on your hair, i have found falling back in love with your natural hair whether its curly or straight can work wonders - Danielle Blunt

Use baby powder to stop your hair going greasy - Krisi Adamson

Use a brush to apply foundation - Krisi Adamson

Shave yours legs twice and moisturise after! - Krisi Adamson

Maintain a good eyebrow shape but don't go too heavy on the pencil, avoid the stencil and work to your natural shape - Danielle Blunt.

If you've painted your nails, make sure you remove the polish from the skin around your nail as it just looks messy and like its been done by a small child, having a crisp nail polish makes all the difference, trust me! - Me

Hair should have volume and waves; use mousse, wrap your hair in a bun while wet and spritz sea salt spray and then leave to dry! - Aimee Wilson

Eyebrow bone highlighting i adore - Abbey Fitzhenry

Things i like are the contoured look - Abbey Fitzhenry

I like seeing people and thinking "they're skin looks amazing" and not loads of foundation - Rebecca Cooper

If your gonna do something, make sure you do it properly. Its just one of those things - Rebecca Cooper

I think makeup should not be too noticeable. Gods made girls as beautiful as they are, so all the fakeness just hides or distracts from that! - John Reynolds

I would say most prefer subtlety. Its a bit like if a guy drew a six pack on and it was really obvious, you know they don't really look like that so it not that attractive - John Reynolds

Beauty dont's:

Please people, make sure your makeup shades match your skin tone! Theres nothing worse than dark skin covered in ghostly white foundation, and light skin looking like you've been rolling around in a wotsits packet! - Me

Nude lips look lovely and classy, lips covered in a colour that looks like youve just covered them in concealer just looks weird. Not sorry. - Me

"Big hair" "Whats wrong with big hair?" "It just looks weird"...(I must admit i agree with that statement) - George Reid

My massive don't is foundation lines under the chin! - Lauren Knight

If you can't apply eyeliner equally don't apply it at all. No eyeliner is so much better than one winged and the other one smudged! - Lauren Jennings

Slick hair, i can't stand it especially gelled back hair during summer! Baby hairs are cute, natural and give you a bit of character. A loose curl here or there isn't going to hurt anybody - Lauren Jennings

Make sure you do your makeup with the weather in mind, if you have a full face of foundation in the sun, it all sweats off and looks like sandpaper - Rebecca Cooper

I hate girls with massive fake eyelashes because you can't see they're eyes! - Rebecca Cooper

If you are in the goth and emo scene, the same rules apply, if black lipstick doesn't match your skint tone, don't wear it! - Rebecca Cooper

What are your opinions? Is there one us guys have missed? If so comment below and i will add you to the list!
Love Chelsea...and everyone else who participated! x

Ombre Studs

I bought some holographic studs from Ebay and i have been waiting for an opportunity to use them, so i sat down at my desk with no real design in mind and just went with it. I think the best designs are the spontaneous ones! So this is what i came up with, a blue and green ombre effect.

My 5 Minute Eye Makeup

Like most people, i have a standard eye makeup that i do the most, especially if i am in a rush! I timed how long it takes, and for me its a 5 minute eye makeup routine.

Clarins Instant Smooth Perfecting Touch Review

A few weeks ago i was given a few makeup gifts from one of my nurses that she has bought but doesn't use. I was very overwhelmed as they were all high end makeup brands and things that i would never be able to usually buy for myself. The product i was most excited by was a brand new tub of the Clarins Instant Smooth Perfecting Touch primer as i had heard about it but couldn't afford the £26 at the time. I've now used this little tub of happiness a good few times and can finally do a good review for it!

50's Bows and Polka Dots

I am really excited excited to announce that i have been accepted to study an NVQ Level 3 Nail Services course! Everything i do, whether its nails or makeup, has been self-taught, so i am super excited to learn and improve my skills in the hope that i can one day turn this into a career. And i was blown away by the enthusiasm of my future tutor, and that they would put their necks on the line to bend the rules in order for me to go straight to Level 3! It means i will have a very busy summer, cramping a whole years work into three and a half weeks, but i can do this. I have mentioned a few times on this blog that i suffer from mental illness, and i simply never thought i would have a future, so today has meant SO much to me. God I'm all emotional, get a grip chelsea!

Anyway, i apologise for rambling away, back to business! I wanted to make a bit of an effort with my nails for my college interview, and i decided to go all 50's with polka dots and 3D blue bows!

'5 Beauty Products You Couldn't Live Without" #TOTW

I have decided to take part in the brilliant idea that is #TOTW (topic of the week) from the lovely http://misssugarspiceallthingsnice.blogspot.co.uk/ and this weeks topic is '5 beauty products you couldn't live without'. This was so much harder than it sounds, and i must of swapped products around for atleast an hour until i came up with the final five!

Getting Braver with Lipstick

So, i recently tested out some lip glosses from Arbonne which i did a review on here, and i tried on six different colours. Now normally i stick to natural, dark pink coloured lips and i have always been very shy around lipstick, mainly because i hate my lips and my smile. However, i really was surprised how much i liked having different lip colours on, so a few days later i went to Boots in the hunt of coral lipsticks, and i have been using them for a while now and i am now a lover of lipstick!

Colour Blocking.

I've been dying to use this colour combo for quite a while now but could never find a way to include it in any of my recent designs, so i just decided to go for it and see how the manicure turned out. So i used bright green, purple and yellow. Slightly random i know! I kinda like it though!

Gradients and Glequins.

I read in the newspaper a couple of days ago on how a heatwave is coming (in the UK) so when trying to find inspiration for this weeks nails i knew i wanted them to be 'summery' and quite girly, which is quite unlike me! I also haven't done a good old gradient manicure in a long while, so i combined the two and i quite like it!

Arbonne Lip Polish Review

I was recently asked by the lovely Sharon Hodgson (her twitter here) to test drive and review some products from Arbonne. I was more than happy to oblige, and when the package came i was overwhelmed by the amount of skin care and makeup! I cannot wait to use them all and review their potential, and i thought i would kick off this series of blog posts by sharing my views on the Arbonne Lip Polish!

Topshop Glow Review

Its my birthday this weekend, the big 21! And i went shopping yesterday and treated myself to some makeup I've been wanting for a while but was too expensive (for me) to try, but the great thing about birthday is birthday money! So i got lots of lovely things that i will review, but this time i will be reviewing the Topshop Glow highlighter in Polished.

Nude and Baby Blue.

I love nude nails, they are so versatile, they can be classy and they can be fun too. I personally like it when there is a pop of colour against a nude nail so that is the manicure I've done for my 21st birthday meal with my best friend (imnotdisordered.blogspot.co.uk)

MOTD: Pale smokey eye

A couple of days ago i put my MOTD on my Instagram which you can see here and i thought i would do a full blog post on how i achieve this look. This is the type of eye makeup i do most, as the brown shades are super flattering with those with blue eyes!

My day at MAC

Today i did something i always wanted to do...get my makeup done at mac! I recently went to the Trafford Centre and did spend any money (i know crazy right!) so i thought seeing as i had more money than usual i would go to my local Debenhams and hit the Mac counter.

Monday, 31 March 2014

Top three Lip Products.

I thought i would share with you my top three lip products. I love lipstick but i am not very brave when it comes to colours. Don't get me wrong i think a strong red lip is so lovely, but i don't dare try it on myself. So i tend to stay with my neutral shades that are matte so my top three aren't all that different to each other but are still my favourite's out of my collection.

Feeling Nautical

Having sailor themed nails is a theme i come back to again and again, i love how you can change it up each time yet using the same colours. It also makes my nails feel like a pretty cool accessory to my outfits!

Makeup and Nail Storage

I'm one of those people who love to see what everyone else has, i love looking in handbags and in people's makeup, so i thought i would share my love of nosiness by sharing my nail and makeup storage!

Monday, 17 March 2014

3D Polka dots

I've had these multicoloured studs for ages and have never used them and they were forgotten at the bottom of my nail art kit, and when looking for inspiration i saw them and thought they'd look really cool as polka dots! I'm really pleased with this design and i can imagine it will be one that i keep coming back to over the next few months.

Boots Haul! #2

Boots currently have a 3 for 2 across everything and like every other beauty blogger in the UK I have used this to my full advantage and bought far too many lovely beauty related things!

Monday, 10 March 2014

Teal with a hint of Gold.

I love the colour teal, i have it a lot in my wardrobe and i think its a great shade for accessories, therefore i thought it was time that the blog had a teal manicure!
